want to root and install a rom preferably better than the one that is stock i am running 2.3.3 but it looks like 2.2

Hi, my name is lance, i have a mid 7012 i have rooted it but i cant for the life of me figure how to install cwm or upgrade os. So i am here to learn and share as much as possible. Got it on amazon about a year ago. i dont have it with me so not sure which O.S i have right now. i would love some tips. i think it has 2.3.1

i own a 7012 and have managed to screw it up ....i can no longer boot into recovery i am trying to get clockwork recovery on my stupid machine and am failing miserably help!!!

Hello! I'm Dominic - i'm so glad to see that there has been a mini-site like this dedicated to upgrading Coby devices Smile

I personally don't own one but several of my friends purchased the 7022 unit a while back. I have a dell streak 5" phone and an infamous hp touchpad. both rooted and rom'd and messed around with many different baked roms and tweaks.
i'd like to help out my friend in getting the 7022 to be a much better device, and hope to get a working play store for them at best.

I bought 2 7172's from craigslist and both were stock with android market already on them. For some reason the camera wont work on both tablets. So trying to find a fix for this and also customize my tablet.

I found the site using google to make my mom's Kyros MID7016 usable

I have a Kyros MID 7016, that has the stock image on it, hoping to put something better on it.

The tablet is android 2.3 and my GS3 is 4.0.4

Hi, I got this for my daughter, its a nice little tablet. But, there are issues. I bought it last christmas, did the root and market install from The Kwas videos, and I am now having problems. I did a factory wipe, and now cannot reinstall the market. Can anyone help? The Kwas links no longer work. Should I unroot and reset and just start over? I used superoneclick to root. Thanks for any help, I just want my daughters games and books back!

I am not having any problems, I was just looking at some of the options of what I can upgrade to next and I saw that I should introduce myself. I started out with rooting and clockwork recovery and then I was hooked. Next I upgraded to Honeycomb and then upgraded to GB 2.3.1 and then GB 2.3.3 and my tablet can do so much more now. When I first got it, I couldn't do anything and then I found this forum and Tipsters wonderful upgrades and my tablet is running much better and much more efficiently. I am very thankful for this forum and everyone's contributions and support.

Its too early in the morning I bought my kyros used...I just want to upgrade to 2.3...and I am famous for skipping over details like this....thanks I am not a rrobot.

My name is |James I found KTZ through a google search, couldn't find anything on XDA for the KEROS 7036-4. I bought a 7036-4 for my 4 year old to put some childrens learning games on instead of one of those leapfrog setups for 3 times as much and 40 dollars a game. I am getting ready to root it and put a rom on it that comes close to AOSP if I can find one. It currently has Android 4.0 ICS. First KYROS.
