Hi All!
Glad to have found this forum as I have been looking to upgrade my MID7022-4G to ICS or Jelly Bean. I've had my COBY for a while now, paid +150 for it through Amazon. Now it below $89.
Now if I can get it to ICS or even JellyBean that would be awesome so I can get more use of this tablet. It's currently not rooted as I'm not that familiar with the process and dont know how to reverse it...i guess I better read up.
My wife has an iPad3 and my kids uses it alot.
I'd like to revive my KYROS.

My name is Lawgen and Im new to the tablet rooting world. I love to read lol cause I know most of what I need should be somewhere in the forums.

I have a Kyros mid 7120 just bought it today from a pawn shop for $79.99 and I am pretty excited about it.

it is running android 2.3.3
Kernel 2.6.35.7-tcc
Build MID7120-Mon Sep 5 11:32:59 CST 2011

I am excited as I said because I saw on youtube at a friends that tablets, and phones can be rooted and such and make the real power come out of it.

Hello, my name is Kai and I am here trying to find a fix for my son's kyros MID7022 model tablet. He got this tablet for christmas a couple years back and now we can't get past the unlock screen because the top half of the screen does not respond to touch anymore so it won't allow you to slide the unlock bar all the way up. This is my first attempt at fixing the problem. I have not tried to reach Coby yet. I have tried pushing the reset button and that does not work. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Everything is stock on this tablet. We have not added or updated anything. so, I guess its Android 2.0?

Hi,

I'm Brazilian, I love technology, I'm a linux user since 1997 and I really liked sistam android.
I found a blog by KTZ Brazilian who wore links of roms forum.
I had a 7015 that otimizei the fullest and sold, now have 2 Kyros, a 8024 for my use and I need to fix 7035, shifted in the mundane build.prob lcd to 130 and now I can not fix.
My 8024 has root, root 7035 could put more now the launcher just hangs.
I have the Clockwork Recovery or the Recovery KTZ.

I´m 23 years old since February 11th .
I´m also speaking perfect German and Turkish.

How did you find KTZ?

I searched for a way to root my Coby Kyros 7022, which was given me by my uncle.
I´m new to Android OS, so that i had no experience with this. After hours and unlimited
google searches I found a good tutorial to root my device. After that thing was done, I wanted to flash a custom rom, because the device is still slow after i made the official update to JB 4.1.1.
The Youtube player wouldn´t play the the videos correctly. It stopped every 2 seconds. So I decided to fix my problem Wink

. Then I searched for custom roms and I didn´t found anything. Then I found this Forum und think that you guys could help me out with my problem.

Yes, I´m owning a Coby Kyros

Which model do you have?

My model is 7022 JB 4.1.1

If you don't have a KYROS, which clone do you have?

I have only the Coby Kyros

Have you rooted your tablet?

I found a good tutorial in google, which helped my to get rooted my Koby.

Have you installed Clockwork Recovery or KTZ Recovery?

I have succesfull installed CWM on my tablet.

Have you ever own a Tablet prior to the Kyros?

No i didn´t.

Are you still on Android OS 2.1?

No, because there was an update out for my tablet. So I thought that schould fix my problems, but it made it more worther. I´m searching for a way to downgrade to it.

- 7024 is rooted and I have alldro2-1.4 running. I'm working on the 7015 now.

- I have a fairly good technical background. I've bricked my 7024 in just about every way that you can and still recover. Also just unbricked (I hope) my 7015. Goes to show it doesn't take a noob to mess things up. Embarassed

Rooted my Colby MID7042. Used the Samsung img on it. Better than it was, flaky once in a while. Hoping an update from here will help.

Howdy,

I have a Coby 7022 that I'm trying to breath life back into again. Still running stock GB 2.3.3. Have CWM 5.0 installed. Can boot OK, but Nand partition seems to be hosed. Space shows as 1GB, but Nand "unavailable" in storage properties. Market installed, but I can't install any apps. No space issue due to "unavaliable" Nand partition? Downloads immediately Fail. New 7022 firmware needed? I found this site through references in the androidtablets.net site. I appreciate any help.

I own a
Kyros Coby MID 7016. I haven´t rooted and never did a recovery of any kind on
my Coby.

My Coby is
my first tablet and I believe it´s running on OS 2.1.

I´m not an
expert on tablets but I can follow instructions pretty well.
