I missed some info sry. The coby that I have has z4root with now custom roms. And it's equipped with 2.1. And I'm here so that I can hopefully get a custom rom without messing it up

Hi, I go by xanatos when binarystar is unavailable. Anyhow, I own a Kyros Mid7012, and frequent internet searches to my problems have led here. I have resisted until now (simply not to have another account) but this time I couldn't resist. A factory reset left my Kyros without a launcher, and it appears that the only way to restore it to its former glory is to install something (probably another recovery) through the android stock recovery, and install a new launcher. Honestly that's the sole reason I am here. I am quite desperate.

I am trying to make my Mid7015 as a backup tablet to use , I cannot find the right way to root it all instructions on internet are outdated and I do not want to brick it . I figured I could try here maybe to get some help with it and see how others like theirs.

Hi everybody!. Like I said, greetings from Venezuela

The main reason i'm here is because a friend bought two MID7035-4 for his children, but one of them is bricked. Since I've been using Android for a couple of years, I told him that I might be able to help him. So, searching around in Google, I found this site, which seems very promising.

Obviously, since its bricked,it's not rooted nor anything!

Let's hope this site helps!

I am someone trying to help a colleague with his Coby 8127, which is very limited out of the box.

I've found ktz surfing the net. I am used to handle these kind of gadgets, now I finally found the one that makes me feel like a dumb.

I have made all kind of hacking in Ipad, Iphone, LGs, samsung, motorola, Nexus, etc. and right now, while writing, i have a bricked Coby in my hands.

Anyone could help? Tips would be much appreciated.

Hi, total noob here. A friend passed me his Kyros 7014 and asked me to "get it working" for him.

Apparently he can't hit tplaystore or g-mail, can only browse. Anyway, I'm now going to explore and see what I can learn about this.

Alyndiar here! I have a Kyros MID7036-4. I found KTZ while looking for custom roms for my tablet. I rooted it and I use a ClockworkMod script to access clockwork Recovery.
I have used numerous Android phones, as well as an old tablet on android 2.1
I now have ICS on my tablet and I want to have JB instead!

I am thejij ! its a nickname of mine that has stuck over the years. I found KTZ by browsing google on how to root this MID7035. I havent rooted yet, but I will be. I have previously used Clockwork MOD for Other. I also own an HP touchpad, and a motorola XOOM.

I bought the tablet third-hand for $40 including a keyboard, paid apps, etc. just wanted to use it as second hand video viewer/alarm clock. Had a lot of lag and figured i could do without apps that were included so I reset to factory to see if it would speed up. Now I can't find updates, was unable to get getjar to install from COBY website. Slightly irritated.

I found this forum looking for information for my tablet kyros mid7120 4GB
I have not rooted my tablet and i have not installed clockwork recovery or ktz recovery. This is my fist kyros but i hava another tablet (WOXTER 101 CXI)
i have not changed the firmware of the tablet.
I leave the tablet to my nephew and he put on the tablet a pattern as a password and he don´t remember it.
Can i reset to factory with boot recovery??? Howw???
I have looked for information but i have not find anything that work for me.

Hello all my name is Raj. I've owned android phones for a few years now so am well-versed in various topics such as rooting, customizing, overclocking etc. I run UBUNTU on my laptop. But I'm a newbie w/ tablets. I recently purchased a KYROS MID7015B for my dad but it's been giving me some grief mainly the screen rotation is all over the places despite multiple calibrations and I would like to try and remove some of the bloatware and see what if any custom ROMS are available. I was able to install Market and root but no luck with CWM. After googling for resources I came across this site and here i am. Good luck to all of us in the same boat!

umm, I skipped it. still using winmo6.5 hope that's not held against me...

finally like android a bit after playing with a gs3 with jellybean, so I'd love to get the bean on the coby. was active in rom dev during the windows mobile days, and decided to take a break from it all when droid came out.

I am Sizzlegal, and found this site through a general search while trying to get a new kyros 7016 to work properly... with any type of market I can find. I'm not a programmer or developer of any kind so only use the easiest and most basic, I'd rather not crash anything. I'm hoping someone on the site will be able to point me in the right direction. Hello there.
The name is Thomas im from Poland. I own my Coby Kyros MID7022 about half a year. Found KTZ doing a google search after new rom for my tablet. I found myself bored with 2.3 design and poor functionality. Even after doing a root its somewhat weak.

Hello,

i'm from Germany.
I found this forum via Google.
I just bought an MID7022-4G and upgraded to german Jelly Bean.
Now I want to root the tablet, but couldn't find a working method.

Also flashed CWM (KYROS7022-8K-recovery-signed.zip), but the tablet won't enter Recovery Mode, only Fastboot or FWDN.

Nowhoping to find some advice here

Hi All!
Glad to have found this forum as I have been looking to upgrade my MID7022-4G to ICS or Jelly Bean. I've had my COBY for a while now, paid +150 for it through Amazon. Now it below $89.
Now if I can get it to ICS or even JellyBean that would be awesome so I can get more use of this tablet. It's currently not rooted as I'm not that familiar with the process and dont know how to reverse it...i guess I better read up.
My wife has an iPad3 and my kids uses it alot.
I'd like to revive my KYROS.

I go By Tony D, I'm new to Coby. I have an older 7015 that was my grandsons and I'm trying to use. I just reset everything, found your forum by googling upgrade from 2.1 to 2.3. Would like to make use of it but needs some work.

My name is Lawgen and Im new to the tablet rooting world. I love to read lol cause I know most of what I need should be somewhere in the forums.

I have a Kyros mid 7120 just bought it today from a pawn shop for $79.99 and I am pretty excited about it.

it is running android 2.3.3
Kernel 2.6.35.7-tcc
Build MID7120-Mon Sep 5 11:32:59 CST 2011

I am excited as I said because I saw on youtube at a friends that tablets, and phones can be rooted and such and make the real power come out of it.
