Yes, my first tablet was an Ainol NOVO 7 Advanced (discontinued). The NOVO 7 Advanced is still miles ahead of the Coby 7015, as far as hardware, performance and features, but for some reason I find myself using the Coby more often... (simply because I can afford to lose/break it) I only paid $60 for the Coby on ebay, so I can't complain(the NOVO 7 Advanced cost me $175 new)

Going from stock, to the xtreme OEM#1 OS 2.3.3 is the most stable and useful rom for my needs. The tablet runs tight, no errors/force closes. Also, streaming flash works on Skyfire browser, so I can watch justin.tv nightly... However, for some odd reason, if I flash to any bulldog build, streaming on justin.tv fails to load... So what comes to mind is... "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".. I'm not about to trade my browsers ability to play streaming flash video for some eye candy but no ability to watch my favorite shows.

(2)7022 -1 not working bought off ebay trying to revive

(1)7015- running oem 2.3.3 with STC Rom(it seems to work best for me)

How did you find KTZ? Link from Android tablet zone...just purchased 2 tablets off groupon, total noobie, Coby came first as it was on groupon a week before the Skypad Alpha too which i also ordered becasue it looked like a much better tablet for only $25 more

no, i do not own kyros, but it arrived in croatia few days ago and i'm very interested to buy one-model 8127.
no, i din't installed recovery mode, but that is one of reasons to join to forum. just to find how to do that..
i preowned samsung p1000, now i have only mobile phone running 2.2.2 android (LG P500)

i like to know and find how to root kyros, how to install google apps, and how to get most of it.

Greetings KTZ, My name is Rob, aka ndrordr, and I own a Kyros

I found you from AndroidTablets.net while looking for info for my new Kyros MID7014

My tablet is not yet rooted, no CWM, or KTZ recovery

My other tablet is a Viewsonic G-Tablet, rooted, CWM, and various ROM's

My 7014 came with Android 2.3.

I'm looking for any info or support for the 7014, but it doesn't look to be one of the supported tabs on KTZ. Specs look very similar (if not the same) to the 7012, but it has a capacitive screen vs. resistive for the 7012.

The biggest issue I have with the 7014 is how slow it performs. I'm interested in any mods that will speed up general performance and especially wifi performance. The primary users of my 7014 are my 5 and 2 yr old sons.

My name is Gary (Farcus1022) and I have been involved with KTZ for awhile now. I bought my Kyros and wanted to get the best performance I could out of it so I looked around and stumbled across this forum. I own a 7015 rooted and using CWR. I was so impressed with what I could do to this tablet I went out and also purchased a 7012 which is now rooted running KTZ recovery. The Kyros is the first tablet I ever purchased and was hooked from the start. I'm running 2.3.3 on both units. I did jump to 2.3.7 on my 7015 but went back down to 2.3.3. After I learned what could be done to some tablets I also went out and bought a samsung 10.1,Toshiba 10, and a Samsung Charge phone. Kyros got me hooked to Android all around.

My name is Scott (forum name linuxuser). The Coby 1125, purchased for my wife is my first experience with a tablet. I've been a linux user for a number of years; however, the 1125 running version 2.3.3 is my first Android O/S experience. I was able to install Clockwork Recovery and root the tablet using ADB installed on my Linux laptop.

We've been using the 1125 mainly as an ebook reader due to its slow WiFi. I've been keeping my eyes out for a custom ROM and found KTZ Forums a few days ago. After much reading on the Forums, I've completed the following KTZ upgrades:

Stock->Bulldog Gold T31->Bulldog Gold T51->Bulldog Gold MaxWiFi

Everything seems to be working well now, including the WiFi. Very Happy

Main cause for registering is to learn how to root my device and to figure out how to install Adobe Flash Player and to run properly on a non rooted device.

Help me Obiwan Kenobi your my only hope!

I have a brand new coby kyros 7012

the only thing I have done with it was download G_Tablet and install google android market
now that was fun and I see/saw (SEESAW?) a lot of free apps one of which I really need
GOOGLE TRANSLATE
and
it works great REALLY COOL! but
BUT when I press conversation mode it the tablet tells me

"VOICE INPUT NOT SUPPORTED"

help I need that feature!.......anyone...anywhere can you guide this soul to getting this working?

Yes, CWM, cause that's what I use on my phone so i'm familiar with it.

Big Fat NO.

Have tried a couple of KTZ ROMs. I'm still playing with it. Going to flash KTZ Gold tonight because I flashed Demon yesterday but wireless is not working. I have the peek-a-boo issue, but I saw the peek-a-boo thread and I'm going to bust it open and mod some stuff y'all posted. I'll take pics and report. I saw there was one other person with the 7127. I hadn't been messing with my Kyros because it was annoying me since it didn't work the way I wanted it to. My wife was bugging me cause i was neglecting it and messing with my phone. Now that y'all have given me things to try and make it better, i'm going to start playing with it more. I'm trying to learn to theme android, so maybe i can do some themeing here too /shrug... maybe.

Hello KTZ Forums

Google brought me here, as I searched for ways to play with the Kyros 7015A. Got Kyros MID7015A a while ago for $150, rooted it under Eclair to run google apps From stock Eclair, I successfully ran the 2.1 -> 2.3.1 --> 2.3.3 update sequence. All steps work, 100%. Thanks to the author tipstir and other installers for feedback.

Sound advice:

UPDATE, UPDATE, UPDATE, your SDK/USB drivers

Learn the manual inputs for Clockwork Mod and entering FWDN mode.

Know where your reset button is. Know about enabling USB debugging mode in tablet settings menu, and how to identify your NAND storage from SD card.

I actually had a 7022-4G since July but just did the market and flash updates from youtube. Worked fine for awhile then the screen became 95% unresponsive. Sent it back for warranty and just got a freshie from Coby. I was looking to squeeze some juice out of the hardware and basically found this site. Boy am I glad. You guys are doing an amazing job here creating a community around the Kyros.

I'm looking forward to digging in...

Hello all my Name is Johnny Newell, I am from southeast Mississippi and I am a minister, writer, and entrepreneur.
I found your site by searching for updates for my old KYROS 7015A / I had also heard about it from the Uberoid forum of which I am also a member. I am very pleased that there is a forum specifically for the KYROS.
I bought this tablet from a junk sale at a very reasonable price because the guy said it couldn't be upgraded.(never say "never to me")
I haven't rooted it yet but I am going to, I was under the mistaken impression that I would be able to root it using Uberoid but found that was not the case. I actually think I got it so cheap because the charger was bad and it was unable to charge thus it wouldn't turn on.
I have owned several different types of tablets and I really like them and find them easy to understand and work on.
Yes it still has the old 2.1 Android OS
I am excited about the new tablet and the new friends I will meet here at KTZ!

I have a clone. ACME TB01, its the same as 7127 model.

I installed Gingerbreak and clicked ROOT, but when I installed some other app, it told me that the tablet wasnt rooted. Sad

How did you find KTZ?
I just purchased a MID1125 and I made my device unbootable in the process of editing the build.prop file to try to get the android market to allow me to install minecraft.
I followed instructions i found online and downloaded a rom with 3g access (not sure what good that is) because i cannot find a stock rom. Now I cannot run some programs (angry birds etc.)
Now I want to install a new rom so I have happened upon KTZ and hope to find answers here.

(i paid 5$ for the Bulldog mod for my 1125, but I was working on no sleep and think that I didn't follow the instructions exactly, perhaps and don't know how to get the link... I'll try to figure that out too

I am Lemwepon. I currently own a kyros mid7127 tablet that is rooted and has clockwork installed. My first tablet was a gentouch78 which I did root and update to latest level, but found there is no coming development coming fron augen and so i learned adb commands and things with it. I am frustrated with the format of at least these 2 tablets as they seem to be limited platform based on cpu and inability to upgrade to newer android releases as a result. So I will chill on this for awhile as my (unintentional)efforts so far have frustrated and angered some members of this forum. I will return to using my mid7127 to read kindle books and play games and persue learning more about linux releases
and hopefully release the stranglehold microsoft has on my pc, laptop etc. cheers
