My name is David Sandoval
I found kyros tablet zone when i was searching for the right firmware since i bricked my MID 7042-4g and got stuck on E:signature verfication failed and can't install any flashable zips.
I own Coby kyros mid7042
i rooted it.. but after installing busybox i got stuck on the android logo.
I have not installed Clockwork Recovery or KTZ Recovery and i have no idea how to use it
anyway this is my 2nd tablet the 1st one was an eagle eye tablet...
i really hope you can help me fix my tablet any help will be appreciated Smile

Hey I'm New. I just basically heard about this forum from google.
I own a kyros 7033-4, not the best of kyros but it was a gift.
Just needed alot of info on it, as I havent seen a root for it yet and my wifi keeps disconnecting when using it

I found this site Searching for info. on Coby tablets probably close to 3 yrs. ago. I haven't been on very much in the last year and the site has changed.

I recently purchased a used 9042 to begin exploring the world of rooted tablets. I've never rooted t but after reading forums like this I hope to learn enough to be successful.

Have you installed Clockwork Recovery or KTZ Recovery? Not yet

I have a playbook and other family memebers have tablets but none are rooted. I'm interested in an upgraded Rom from KTZ

Hello there people!

Just received my Kyros today .... and it is softly bricked! ha ha!

1- Found the forums with through duckduckgo

2 - I've been using linux for a few years now, so I am not very scared of terminals.....

3 - My Koby Kiros is a 9742 // Kyros Model A37LG // s/n 092100073???

4 - I own other Android devices (phones) and I have root them all and installed custom/cyano roms.

5 - It is my first time with tablets (and it is my first tablet) .....

Although today it has not been a very nice day, to be honest:

I have rooted the thing, installed CWM, back to recovery flashed (probably a not good) boot.img, flashed the custom rom people are using at androidtablets.net, rebooted and now I can only get to CWM recovery .... not very nice, since in the post, seemed to be tested ... although, I guess is not the end of the world, given that I can access CWM. I will have a look at it more carefully, look at the logs/adb shell etc ... to see what I have and post a proper post with all the info.

I just hope to be in the right place and give back all I can....

I am upindaklub. I have the Coby Kyros 7012. I have not rooted but got the Android Market installed and the google apps using the youtube guide by daprospecta. I am running the 2.3.3 that came on it. I stream Pandora & TuneIn Radio, IM with Trillian and use google cal, gmail, yahoo mail. I use Winamp to play flac and MoboPlayer for AVI and MP4 video. Have not rooted but would like to. What is the best guide for a root Noob? I also have a Nook Color 1.4.3 and would love to dual boot or root but Im a Noob so a step by step guide for a Noob would be great. Love to get flash working on these devices. I am from NC. Good luck with your Kyros devies!

I've had my Kyros MID 1020 for about a year now. It's been working okay for me as-is, but I've gotten to the point that I would like to use Google Play and the other Google apps on it. I also have an HP Touchpad which I rooted about 6 months ago and it's really great having Android on my phone and both tablets. To date I've used sideloading to get most apps onto the Kyros. Now I am ready to try to install gapps. Thanks much.

well i have the old Android Market Place working but without rooting I have not been able to the google play store working. this means that some apps can be installed but some can not.

this is my first tablet, and I am having a problem rooting it.

i have down loaded superonlclick and I think the problem that I am having is that I am running windows xp and I cant find the driver associated for my tablet... any ideas?

The NOVO 7 Advanced is still miles ahead of the Coby 7015, as far as hardware, performance and features, but for some reason I find myself using the Coby more often... Going from stock, to the xtreme OEM#1 OS 2.3.3 is the most stable and useful rom for my needs. The tablet runs tight, no errors/force closes. Also, streaming flash works on Skyfire browser, so I can watch justin.tv nightly... However, for some odd reason, if I flash to any bulldog build, streaming on justin.tv fails to load... So what comes to mind is... "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".. I'm not about to trade my browsers ability to play streaming flash video for some eye candy but no ability to watch my favorite shows.

I've installed CWM for 7016, I'm looking for an alternate recovery.

Yes, I owned a Zenithink C92 Upgrade. It died in two months!!

I have CM7 for 7016 on the kyros. would like to go back to stock for experimenting and tweaking for CM7.

Hello, just found site, & hoping to get more performance & productive use out of my Kyros Mid7012.

It's running Android 2.3.3, & has not been rooted or modified at all.

It works ok (but slow), & am willing to try almost anything on it.

Haven't owned any other tablets, but looking to get a Nexus (with Google Fiber) by end of year.

Are you still on Android OS 2.1? Yes however got coby with pre-instaled 4.0 unfortunatelly it stuck on android logo and in act of desperation (since i never did a back up) ive flashed it with FWND using someones rom which happened to be a 2.3.3
Since then iv been trying to bring it back to 4.0 - ive learned how to root and get google market working...

Only issue - ongoing nand storrage corrupted error - probably due to wifi coby being flashed with 3g rom Razz

but dont quote me on this Wink

No, I rooted and got to 2.3

I am locked out now, I didn't use my 7127 for a couple months and I went to turn it on and it will not get past Coby. I can get it to show the blue text on bottom for either fastboot or fdwn mode. But I am stuck from there. Anyone have any ideas or help for me?

My name is Marcelo Teixeira (AKA GKDantas) and i found this forum in google search as many others.
I got an MID 7022 and the first thing I did was root my tablet so I could install Google Apps, to do that I also installed Clockwork.
This isnt my first tablet, I got one more cheap before but it broke and the store give me back credits so I add a little money and got this model, but after sometime I have the chance to get a Samsung Tablet and this one now below to my kid.
I got your PowerCode 540KLS now, no more Android 2.1

I search a custom rom for my tablet, but i don´t found that model in forum.
I think that model is the same as MID7042.
It´s my first tablet.

Hello all MKDroid here,
I was just gifted a 7022 that my bro-in-law had sitting around gathering dust when he went to the dark side of the fruit world.
This is my first tablet. I've had two Android phones but have never done much to tweak either of them. I did a factory reset on the tablet when I got it and it still has 2.3.3 running.
I would like to use the tablet for access to a specific website while I am out and about. The website opens fine, but when I go to look at a person's profile that has their picture in it, the browser crashes every time. I'm trying to determine if it is a limitation of the browser, Gingerbread (same thing happens on my phone running 2.3.7), or what.
The website opens fine with the 'fruit' products so I know that it is not limited to just browsers that work in the PC environment.
If I can make this Kyros into a viable use item, powerful enough for what I need, I can see myself saving a few hundred dollars and not having to go get a newer Samsung, Asus, Acer or (don't make me say it) fruit product.
Any help would be appreciated.
