Do you own a KYROS? No, but my roommate does and I'm afraid I screwed up her Kyros.
Which model do you have? My roommate's is a MID7022-4G
If you don't have a KYROS, which clone do you have?
Have you rooted your tablet? I've rooted it, yes.
Have you installed Clockwork Recovery or KTZ Recovery? I can't because I screwed it up somehow downloading the files ON THIS VIDEO'S DESCRIPTION and holding down the button while powering it on isn't coming up with stock recovery.

Hey fellow Kyros users, my name is Brian.

I found KTZ on Google while researching my new broken toy.

I work as a computer tech and my boss gave me an abandoned Kyros 7014 that will not power on.

All the hardware seems intact, and the battery charges and tests ok, so I figure the firmware is most likely bricked.

I've never used or owned one before, but I hope to repair this one and make the most of it.

Have you ever own a Tablet prior to the Kyros? Yes, the Asus Transformer TF101.
Are you still on Android OS 2.1? No, most of my Android devices are either ICS or higher, and these two Kyros I'm using temporarily are on GB.

Yes I have rooted the device.

Not sure what recovery I have at the moment its been a while since I installed a custom ROM. However I prefer CWM on all my android devices.

The Kyros was my first tablet. Now I own a Other Mod Nook Tablet.

I cant remember what version of Android I have on my Kyros. It is probably 2.3 as GB was out before I tossed it in the closet

Just came in to see what version of android is available now for my tablet

Trying to get Google Store onto Tablet so my son can watch netflix.
Kyros ownership - Yes
model MID7022
I updated the system using the procedure referenced http://www.androidtablets.net/forum/coby-generation-2-development/41704-coby-kyros-7022-only-change-app-data-space-1gb-more-apps.html
But I still don't have the google store added.
It is current in CM7 and I'd like to equip it with Gapps and possibly ICS.

I used the method of connecting USB to PC and using the program FWDN_Software_ 2_13.exe

The sad thing is that I am way behind on the reading curve and am still trying to figure out what version of Android the tablet has flashed to (scary, I know).

Well, I'm trying to learn how to root it, I've never rooted a device of any sort before. Also, I want to be able to get apps on it, which it seems to have difficulty doing on its own. One more thing, I'm trying to get it to connect to my computer to where I can access the storage.

I'm a 17 year linux user/admin. I've rooted a number of android phones/tables (probably 12-15). The Kyros I'm working on was for the kids originally but since it's been collecting dust I'm gathering info to update it to either ICS or JB and actually get some use out of it. If I can do that, It's going to get installed in my car... otherwise I'm going to salvage the screen and use it in the car anyway Smile

I am a long time listener, first time caller. Huge fans of yours even before it got cool. Last time I was here was about 4 or 5 years ago when I rooted my sons MID7015, well, I am passing it on - updated to Honeycomb and really working surprisingly well.

However, I find myself in need of some rooted phones, so I am here to avail myself of the information that is all around here!

So - go back to what you were doing, nothing to see here, move along now....
