Hi, i hav a coby kyros mid70wc when i power it it just says ANDROID with a blinking underscore _ so i searched online for help and got the BWT tutorial and thats how i got here.im just about to begin so if i get stuck thats where my post will begin.

hi, i'm from chihuahua mexico, i love country music and the electronic stuff.

i have Coby Kyros mid7012, is not root, not recovery, android version 2.3.3.

is my first tablet, is not my first android stuff but looking for fix the touchscreen
response i find this forum by google search.

i hope have a lot of fun sharing this forum

From what I saw in the video about upgrading the Android to 2.3.3 from 2.1 and getting the Kyros up to speed.,

Looks like I will be able to learn about manipulating the Andriod OS which would be for almost any phone as well.

So learning how to take care of my own ohone with out bricking it would be nice.

I found KTZ through androidtablets.net

I own a MID7015 with honeycomb installled.

i guess i am runny clockwork in order to have put honeycomb on the system.

i am here to try and bring my old kryos back to life with a faster or more efficient rom and perhaps an overclocking if thats possible.

Tried to, but no recoveries were available for the damned thing.

Yes, a Chinese 10" knock-off tablet - a Flytouch II.

Are you still on Android OS 2.1?
Nope. Got ICS, like all of 'em, but that stripped-out version, and can't seem to get everything to work in it... need a new ROM that has full ICS function or a way to downgrade this sucker to something that will run faster and give me full store access.

I am a brand new user of a Kyros (my GF bought it for me Wink

)
I am looking to flash/root it and upgrade to either Gingerbread or Jelly Bean. I haven't heard to much about Jelly Bean and I am a bit nervous about loading it.
I am in the IT field, sort of, it is my job description but unfortunately as of the past 4 years I have not done my job and I am a bit rusty.

I found KTZ when searching for the KYROS tablet in Yahoo
I just got a MID1042 second hand ... no warranty
I successfully rooted the tablet - THEN I successfully bricked it
Since it is bricked - I can not access/install anything so I did not have a chance (YET) to buy/install KTZ recovery ....
Nope - this is my first time to have a tablet
Nope - the MID 1042 is (or would be) on ICS 4.03

So I joined here to see what experience others have (may be find a way to un-brick) and share back what I have learned/tried.

New Member i bought one of these gutless mid 7012 kyros last year and have managed to root it easily with super one click but now there doesnt seem to be anything else i can do with it such as flash clockwork mod or a custom rom etc etc etc....

I'm Darren, found KTZ looking for Clockworkmod recover installs on google for a 1125. I rooted it using the superoneclick and am wanting to backup the rom. This is my first tablet, but have rooted a few phones, all htc's. The tablet is running 2.3.3.

I dunno. I might be just really dense, but I'm having a real hard time trying to understand the lingo here. I'm still trying to figure out why in the hell Coby would sell a tablet device with a deliberately crippled OS on it in the first place. I had no idea when I bought the thing and now I'm sorry I bought it. It won't run Netflix, even though it's capable. It's got an HDMI port on it that's useless. I can't install Adobe Air on it, so there are lots of apps that it won't run. When I try to download anything from the Google apps store all I get is some lame compatibility message that makes no sense at all. Meanwhile, I'm trying to make heads or tails of all this rooting and custom ROM business and I just don't get it. I'm trying to figure out why the memory in the thing is called "Nand" and "SD" even when there is no SD card in it. And now to top the whole thing off, whenever I put an SD card in it, it temporarily turns it into a brick; It instantaneously powers off and will not turn on again until the SD card is removed.

And I'm also trying to figure out why some of the forums on this website are restricted. What is the big secret? I'm just trying to figure out this quagmire of needlessly complicated technospeak.

I am shuffels.
I do own a kyros, it is a MID7127.
I just finished rooting it, and came here to this site to find roms & clockwork recovery software.
The kyros is my first tablet, this one is running 2.2.1. I look forward to giving and receiving advice!

name is rtfire I mostly am on at xda where I have an s2 epic and an moding it with a custom rom. that said I am the cumputer geek other computer geeks go to when they have issues. I have havked ps1s, ps2s, ps3s, 2.1 and up android os. I have a mid7012 that I use as a tech for note taking and many other cool things exp biger screen or second screen for my s2 epic. I am back to ktz to look into upgrading my mid 7012 to a diffrent ics rom I need more power for netflix
