MID1126 German ICS rom!

Hey all 1126 owners with non functional/broken ICS updates...

Early days yet, but I finally managed to get the 1126 ICS Rom!

Touchscreen works... it boots...WIFI works... I can browse the web etc.

-> So how did I finally get it?

A roundabout way!

Running Bluestacks Android Emulator on my PC I run the Coby German Upgrade.Apk
Selected 1126, and left it running WITHOUT clicking "upgrade now". I could see it downloading.

Quit Bluestacks (force close) once the upgrade bar ran twice.

Go to programdata/bluestacks/android and you'll see some .fs images (sdcard.fs , data.fs etc).
Rename data.fs to data.img
Install the Windows ExtFS2 driver http://www.sourceforge.net/projects/ext2fsd
Install Gizmo Driver http://arainia.com/software/gizmo/overview.php?nID=4
Reboot
Run Gizmo Driver
Mount data.img (in programdata/bluestacks/android)
navigate to /data/com.upgradeandroid.upgrader/files/
** and there you'll see upgrade.zip **

Install upgrade.zip via clockwork or maybe the stock recovery.

The clockwork i used is called "recovery_1125.img"... Honestly can't remember where I downloaded it, might be in the patch_1125 package.

Quick instructions to get recovery: Make sure the upgrade.zip is on your sdcard (insert in your pc via card reader or connect the tablet via usb). Reboot holding volume down, so you get fastboot. Make sure the android sdk or that patch_1125 is on your pc. Open command prompt and navigate to that sdk/patch folder. Execute "Fastboot Boot recovery_1125.img" or whatever it's called. You can then install the upgrade.zip. If you can't get the upgrade.zip on your SD you can Mount USB in the recovery then copy it over.

Serial to use in the Upgrade APK on Bluestacks and then once you use the ICS on your tablet will be 101110010464 (change the last two till it works).

Now time to tweak - installing Tipstrs upgrades next!

These file storage clouds don't tend to last too long, so perhaps you might want to download and reupload to another mirror

Sorry, what was the fix? I think I need the lk.rom file from one of you guys with a working MID1126. Anyone able to help?

For those stuck @ either Coby logo or Android logo, the fix is to either reset the tablet using a paperclip and inserting into the little hole by the USB slot, then pressing and holding the silver orb as it is booting up in order to get it into recovery or to use adb reboot recovery if you didn't hold the silver orb in time. I had the same issue but used adb to reboot into recovery. The deal with CWM recovery is that the volume + button or the power button makes your selection and the volume - button allows you to scroll through the menu. In order to go back to the previous menu, you have to scroll through the menu 2 to 3 times or hold the volume - and silver orb at the same time to get the *Go Back* option.

how did you get it to run without clicking the update button? Mine just says (in red) "Tablet model could not be recognized, please select correct model"
