I have a Coby Kyros MID7015 for about 2yrs and has not used it for about 1yr. Recently i have looked into see if the MID7015 can be updated to any latest android firmware to make ist better and use it. I found this website through youtube of some upgrading the Kyros 7015. I see it can be done but firmware is needed.

The Kryos has been root with ClockworkMod recovery 5 installed. with Eclair 2.1 android firmware.

I had it at one point in time, but it seems the crappy ROM I have installed removed it.

I did own a Gateway laptop with a touchscreen, if that counts.

No, I am currently on Android OS 2.3.1, but am planning on upgrading to a 2.3.3 ROM soon.

I have not rooted The tablet. I dont know how.

Have not installed any recovery.

Never owned a tablet before.

Running android 4.03.

I need help with this tablet. It will not stay locked on to wifi. Would like to install Google play.

I'm originally an iOS guy I've been jail breaking and stuff since 2009. I found the forum just doing searches for android related hacks and what not. I guess that should do for now I'll be around.

Hi, I am Russ. I found KTZ via Google and the xda-developers forum. I have a Kyros MID8120 tablet which is my first tablet. It is rooted (via zergRush), with the stock ROM (Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread). I have not installed any recovery packages as of yet (mostly just back stuff up using ADB and/or sdcard ATM).

Hi Everyone,

I have purchased a batch of Mid73's or Kyros 7022 (I think).
I want to give them to friens and family but as they are even less androidian than I am, I am trying to get the most out of these tablets by flashing rooting, and upgrading.

I have played around with Clockworkmod5 and Other 7 on these tablets.

I am on this forum to soak up some info, on what others have been battling with, gain some tips, and maybe throw in my 2 cents worth.

What's up. I have a MID 7015. It is running pretty slow lately, and I heard this was a cool site. This is my first Tablet and I have loved it. Taken it many places, and is perfect for watching movies on the plane. Looking forward to this forum!

I'm new to tablets and Android..just bought a Coby MID7035 (the capacitive screen version)
so far I'm impressed with its capabilities for such low cost, and the Android OS..however, it seems that I'll need to install Google Play to use some of the more interesting games for my grandson..hopefully I can learn how to root my tablet here.

my name is ken i found this site while looking for a solution to the problem i have with my coby kyros 9742, i have roote thie tablet installed clockwork mod.
this is the first tablet i have owned which is on ics firmware. i am having a problem with my sd card after i rooted my tablet. i
rooted,dumped image, flashed cwm then flashed mobiz v2. everything works
even g/play but for some reason i cannot mount the internal sd card so
the camera works but wont take pictures but tells me that there is no sd
card present.
i think i have tried most things so any suggetions would be great

The first time I found the forum on xda after "Googling" for support for my tablet
Do you own a KYROS?
"Maybe" is a total clone of Coby Kyros 7014
Which model do you have?
2 clone:
first 7012
second 7014
If you don't have a KYROS, which clone do you have?
The name of the clone are:
AKAI MID 7008
AKAI MID 7034-C
Have you rooted your tablet?
the first one was rooted using Z4root
the second is brend new
Have you installed Clockwork Recovery or KTZ Recovery?
I don't find any Cwm compatible, or better, i don't find any downlable img
Have you ever own a Tablet prior to the Kyros?
never, i own 2 phone: galaxy i5500 and huawei ideos
Are you still on Android OS 2.1?
the first one has android 2.2
the second one has 2.3

i cant find the drivers i need to root my device via my pc...i tried gingerbreak.apk but that didnt work either..this is my first tablet and any info. would be very helpful..

Main cause for registering is to learn how to root my device and to figure out how to install Adobe Flash Player and to run properly on a non rooted device.

i have Coby Kyros mid7012, is not root, not recovery, android version 2.3.3.

is my first tablet, is not my first android stuff but looking for fix the touchscreen

From what I saw in the video about upgrading the Android to 2.3.3 from 2.1 and getting the Kyros up to speed.,

Looks like I will be able to learn about manipulating the Andriod OS which would be for almost any phone as well.

So learning how to take care of my own ohone with out bricking it would be nice.
